IDstrip

Terms of Service

Last updated: July 2026

These terms govern your use of IDstrip. By subscribing to or using the service, you agree to them.

1. The service

IDstrip is a membership that gives you a unique code you can print onto your own tags and attach to your belongings. If an item is found, the finder can enter or scan the code to reach you through a private page. IDstrip helps make contact possible — it does not guarantee that a lost item will be found or returned.

2. Your account

You must provide accurate information and keep your login details secure. You are responsible for activity that happens under your account.

3. Subscription and billing

IDstrip is a paid annual membership of $50 USD per year. Payment is processed by Stripe and your subscription renews automatically each year unless you cancel.

You can cancel at any time from your account. When a subscription ends, your code becomes dormant and lookups will no longer resolve to you, but your code is preserved so you can reactivate it by subscribing again. Unless required by law, payments already made are non-refundable.

4. Printing and using your tags

You may print as many tags with your code as you like, in any size, for your own personal use. Your code is tied to your active subscription.

5. Acceptable use

Don't misuse the service: don't use it for any unlawful purpose, don't attempt to look up or interfere with codes that aren't yours except to help return a found item, and don't try to disrupt or gain unauthorized access to the service.

6. Content you provide

You are responsible for the contact details and messages you add to your account. Don't include content that is unlawful or that infringes someone else's rights.

7. Availability

We work to keep IDstrip available and reliable, but we provide the service on an “as is” and “as available” basis and may change or suspend features from time to time.

8. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, IDstrip is not liable for lost items, missed connections, or indirect or consequential damages arising from your use of the service. Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.

9. Termination

You may stop using IDstrip and cancel at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if these terms are violated.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. We will post the updated version here and revise the “last updated” date. Continued use after changes means you accept them.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Canada and the province in which IDstrip operates, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
